5 UMD Football Players Caught Drinking Suspended From Season Opener
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Five University of Minnesota-Duluth football players are sidelined after being caught drinking at a party.
Duluth police handed out at least 30 citations for underage drinking at a house party Sunday night.
More than 20 of them were UMD football players.
Along with the ticket, several players will lose scholarship money and two captains have been stripped of their title for the season.
The Bulldogs coach says his players need to set an example.
The suspensions will keep the players out of Saturday's season opener.
