1 Arrested In Fatal Baldwin, Wis. Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man is in custody after a woman was found dead inside a vehicle in western Wisconsin Tuesday, according to the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office.

At around 11:48 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the report of a shooting in Baldwin, Wis. The 911 caller said he needed help for a passenger in their vehicle who had been shot, authorities said.

When deputies arrived at 260th Street and 90th Avenue, they found a male suspect standing outside a vehicle parked in the middle of 260th Street. After the man was arrested, deputies approached the vehicle and found a deceased woman inside. Authorities say it appears the woman died of a gunshot wound to the head.

The suspect was taken to St. Croix County Jail.

The identities of the suspect and victim are not being released, pending family notification and investigation efforts.

The incident remains under investigation. Charges are being considered by St. Croix County Attorney's Office.
