MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Today is the day tech geeks and Apple fans the world over have been waiting for.
The latest iPhones, the iPhone 6 and 6 plus have hit stores.
Apple set a record with more than 4 million pre-orders for the new smartphones last week.
The company hasn’t been able to keep up demand.
So plenty of people–like those lined up outside the Apple store in Uptown this morning and lined up outside the Mall of America in the wee hours–are crossing their fingers they can snag one in the stores.
Other retailers that will have the phone in stock: Best Buy, Radio Shack, Staples, Sam’s Club,Target, Walmart. And the major cell phone carriers: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon.
