Cops: 2 Shootings Leave 2 Dead In Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis police say two shootings overnight Saturday left two victims dead.

One shooting happened just before 11 p.m. on the 2600 block of Knox Avenue North. When officers got to the scene, they found a dead man and took another person into custody.

The victim's identity will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office, and police say more information is expected to come out Monday.

The other shooting happened just before 6:30 a.m. on the 2200 block of 7th Street Northeast. When officers responded to a call of shots fired, they found a man dead in a driveway.

"We got a report of three shots fired, and witnesses reported seeing a man down. Suspect were gone when we got there," said police spokesman John Elder.

Officers interviewed several people near the scene, and police say they are following up on leads. No arrests, however, were made.

The victim's identity will be released by the medical examiner's office.
