5 Juvenile Males Arrested In Manitowoc Rail Arson

MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) — Authorities have arrested five male juveniles in connection with a fire set at a Manitowoc train yard.

All five have been released to their parents, and charges are being forwarded to the Department of Human Services.

Police said Sunday that officers were sent to Pulaski Park on Saturday night due to a report of fireworks. They arrived and found items that appeared to be evidence from an early morning arson fire at the rail yard.

Police questioned multiple people and arrested the five boys. Police say they found the same five boys are also responsible for a string of vandalism, including damage to at least five vehicles and a motor home.

Preliminary estimates show damage to railroad equipment could reach as high as $100,000.

Police are still investigating.
