Como Zoo Giddy Over 2 Pregnant Gorillas
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Staff at St. Paul's Como Zoo have some good news to share. They say not one, but two of the female gorillas are expecting.
They say gorillas Alice and Dara have both tested positive on pregnancy tests.
The females are expected to deliver in the next few months.
It will be the first gorilla births at Como Zoo since it started caring for large primates 55 years ago.
Gorillas are pregnant for about eight months, and their babies weigh about 4 or 5 pounds at birth.
Right now, seven gorillas call Como Zoo home.
