Adrian Peterson Admits To Smoking 'A Little Weed'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Adrian Peterson can't seem to outrun his legal problems.

Texas prosecutors are now calling for the star running back to be arrested.

They say the Peterson admitted he "smoked a little weed" since being charged with child abuse.

Smoking marijuana could be a violation of his bond.

Peterson just went before a judge in a courthouse near Houston Wednesday.

He's been out on a $15,000 bond ahead of his next court date in December.

But now, that could change.

Montgomery County Prosecutor Brett Ligon filed a two page motion to have Peterson's bond revoked and the suspended Vikings running back arrested.

According to the motion, just before giving a urine sample on Wednesday Peterson told the person giving him the test that he had "smoked a little weed."

Taking drugs is a violation of Peterson's bond conditions.

The district attorney has asked the judge to set aside his $15,000 bond and immediately arrest Peterson.

He's out of jail on bond, accused of whipping his 4-year old son with a switch, leaving marks and open cuts.

It's believed the judge presiding over Peterson's case will not make a ruling Thursday.

That judge is scheduled for a recusal hearing.

Prosecutors want a different judge to hear the case against Peterson.

An arrest warrant for Peterson cannot be issued until that recusal hearing is done.

In court yesterday, Peterson's attorney, Rusty Hardin, asked people not to rush to judgment against his client.

Hardin has not returned our calls for comment.
