North Branch Office Burglary Under Investigation; Reward Offered For Info

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in North Branch say a $2,500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect who burglarized an office building and tried to set it on fire.

The burglary happened Wednesday morning at an office building on the 6000 block of Main Street, the North Branch Police Department said. When officers got to the scene shortly before 8:30 a.m., they found a fire had been started in the building's lower level. It had been put out, however, by the building's sprinkler system.

Some 15 offices are housed in the building, and police say about half of them were burglarized. It's unclear what the burglar stole from them.

The water from the sprinkler system ran for hours, causing damage to some of the building's offices. Teresa Borowick had just opened her hair salon this summer, and she's crushed by the damage her business has sustained.

Anyone with information of the incident is asked to call 651-674-8488.
