Winona State Faculty Unhappy With MnSCU Leadership
WINONA, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities' chancellor says he has not been contacted by Winona State faculty leaders about any concerns that would have led to their vote of no confidence.
The Winona State University Faculty Senate cites a pattern of secrecy in MnSCU decision making in its unanimous vote on leadership Monday. The Faculty Senate says system leaders have been unwilling to incorporate greater student and faculty input in long-term planning and questions some of its spending decisions among other things.
The Faculty Senate says the no confidence vote in the chancellor should also send a message to the MnSCU Board of Trustees.
A statement from Chancellor Steven Rosenstone says he meets regularly with the faculty leadership organization from all 54 campuses and has been told "it's a local issue" at WSU.
