New Plans Unveiled For $50 Million Nicollet Mall Project

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- New renderings are showing what the Nicollet Mall project team is thinking for the future of the downtown Minneapolis transit hub.

The team held a public meeting Thursday night to address their redesign plans. Their goal is to create a pedestrian-friendly and green experience along Nicollet Mall.

Their hope is to turn the Nicollet Mall Center, which is between 6th and 8th Streets, into a Minneapolis-inspired destination that celebrates light, art and the four seasons. Construction on the $50 million project is set to begin in the spring and be completed by 2016.
