MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Usually people want to avoid the commercials, but some are so good they get awards.

This holiday season, the Walker Art Center carries on its 28-year tradition as host to the British Arrows Awards.

It’s like the Oscars of advertising for the Brits.

“The point of a commercial is that we have to create something which people enjoy,” said Andy Gulliman, an event organizer. “You’ve got to create something that isn’t disposable.”

The awards are going now at the Walker Art Center through Jan. 4.

The show lasts 74 minutes.

Tickets are $12 for adults with discounts available for Walker members, students and seniors.
