St. Paul Woman Pleads Guilty To Animal Abuse

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A St. Paul woman plead guilty to animal cruelty after she was charged with leaving puppies in a dumpster last May.

Anna Bertha Robole, 47, plead guilty to one felony charge of animal cruelty.

According to the criminal complaint, two dogs were found in a dumpster behind the Scenic Hills Animal Hospital on May 7.

Hospital staff called St. Paul police after they found the dogs, one of which was dead.

Investigation led police to Creek Point Apartments, located down the block from the hospital, and found Robole had been the focus of complaints about abuse of two puppies in April.

Police said Robole was the puppies' owner.

According to the criminal complaint, Robole had been fined by her apartment complex for having unauthorized pets after a neighbor complained she was abusing the puppies.

According to the criminal complaint, witness testimony accused Robole of kicking the puppies to the point where they limped, chocking them with their collars and covering their mouths with duct tape.

Ramsey County Attorney said sentencing will take place on February 5.
