MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Minnesota Department of Health has a warning about caramel apples linked to a listeria outbreak.

Four people in Minnesota got sick in late October and November — and two of them died.

Health officials say the commercially-produced apples were purchased from Cub Foods, Kwik Trip and Mike’s Discount Foods.

Brand names include Carnival and Kitchen Cravings, but more brands could be impacted.

The health department says you should not eat any brands of commercially-produced, pre-packaged caramel apples until more information is available.

Symptoms of listeriosis include fever, muscle aches, headache and confusion.
