Holidazzle Holiday Market Wraps Up 1st Year

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's the final day of the Holidazzle Holiday Market in downtown Minneapolis.

The Holidazzle Village featuring the Minneapolis Holiday Market opened on Nov. 28. Since that time, The Minneapolis Downtown Council has seen a steady flow of people of all ages taking part in the festivities.

The market has offered arts and crafts, tasty holiday treats, gift ideas and live reindeer.

The Holidazzale marketplace replaced the Holidazzle Parade in downtown Minneapolis. Organizers say they have received positive feedback from the community and vendors.

One of the things that will be taken into consideration for future events will be the price. The admission for the market ranged from $3-$6 per person.

"If you look at holiday markets across the U.S. there are two business models," said Leah Wong. "We happened to partner with a vendor that uses admission as part of their business model. That's what we did this year. We'll evaluate that moving forward."

The Holiday Market wraps up Friday at 6 p.m. Admission is free 2-6 p.m.

The Minneapolis Downtown Council says we can expect similar things in the future. But no word just yet on what exactly will happen next year.
