Sheriff: Man, 24, Arrested After Torturing, Killing Family Dog

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police in central Minnesota say they arrested a man earlier this week after receiving a report that he tortured and killed his family's dog.

The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office says 24-year-old Anthony Sather, of Princeton, is in the county jail after deputies arrested him on Monday for mistreating animals and possessing drugs.

When authorities searched his home on the 29000 block of 144th Street Northwest, they say items were found indicating that Sather  tortured and killed his family's pet.

Police also found marijuana and 300 pills not prescribed to Sather.

On Wednesday, Sather appeared in court. His bail was set at $250,000.
