'U' Mascot Wins Bronze In Nat'l Cheer Contest
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The University of Minnesota's Goldy Gopher now has the hardware to prove he's one of the best mascots in the country.
Goldy took home the bronze at the Universal Cheer Association college nationals in Orlando this weekend.
Brutus the Buckeye from Ohio State won the national title, while Bucky Badger from the University of Wisconsin got fifth place.
Cheerleaders from the U of M and the school's reigning-champion dance team are also in completion.
