Timberwolves' Hummel Breaks Hand In Loss To Atlanta

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Sunday night that Robbie Hummel is out indefinitely after suffering a hand injury in the team's loss at Atlanta.

Team officials said Hummel suffered a non-displaced fracture of the fourth metacarpal in his right hand, his shooting hand. The injury happened at the end of the third quarter in the Timberwolves' 112-100 loss to the Hawks. An x-ray taken at the arena confirmed the injury.

Hummel said after the game he expects to be out four to six weeks. It's another injury for a team that's been depleted by them most of the season.

In 36 games for the Timberwolves, Hummel averaged 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in about 15 minutes per game.
