Officials: Minn. Businesses Lead The Nation In Preventing Pollution

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – State officials say a new report shows that Minnesota businesses lead the nation in reducing or eliminating dangerous pollutants from their work processes.

The report, released by the Environmental Protection Agency, says that Minnesota businesses implemented measures that resulted in toxic releases being cut by 1 million pounds between the years of 2012 and 2013.

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency detailed some measures companies took to reduce their environmental impact. They include making their cleaning processes water-based, working with costumers to create greener manufacturing options and reworking schedules to reduce the generation of solvents.
