MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person is dead and two others are injured following a three-car crash in St. Louis County Friday evening.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to the scene around 5:50 p.m. at Highway 7 near the intersection of Chesapeake Court in Mt. Iron.

The pick-up truck then struck a southbound car head-on.
Police said a third vehicle then hit the back of the pick-up truck and came to rest in a ditch.
READ MORE: Space Heater Cited In Aitkin County Fire That Killed ThreePolice said the 49-year-old driver of the southbound car and the 15-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries. The teenager was airlifted from the scene to a Duluth area hospital.
The driver of the truck, a 79-year-old Mt. Iron man, died at the hospital.
The third driver was uninjured.
