Sketch Released Of Roadside I-35 Sex Assault Suspect

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Police in Carlton County have released a sketch of the man who posed as a motorist in need of assistance on Interstate 35 and sexually assaulted a woman who pulled over to help him.

The woman described the man to police as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s, with a short beard and short brown hair. He was wearing a black Carhartt hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black work boots.

A sketch of the man is above.

The man drove his Ford F-150 to the shoulder of northbound I-35, near Esko, Minn., on Feb. 3.

The woman, a passing Good Samaritan, pulled over her vehicle sometime between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. and began helping the man with his truck.

The man then physically and sexually assaulted her.

The vehicle was described as an extended cab F-150, possibly the 2003 model, with a black matte finish and black matte low-profile tires.

The photos below are of a truck police believe may resemble the assailant's vehicle.

Those with any information relating to the crime are asked to call Carlton County Dispatch at 218-384-9520.
