MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 36-year-old man is in custody after a brief standoff with police in northeast Minneapolis late Wednesday morning.

Police say the former girlfriend of Major James Moore called 911 just before 11:30 a.m. to report that he was standing outside of her residence with a weapon.

When police were driving to the scene on the 2300 block of Lincoln Street Northeast, they were informed that the suspect had fired shots into the residence.

Moore had fled when officer arrived, but he was soon discovered in an alley with a shotgun, which he allegedly aimed at police.

An officer fired one shot at Moore, which missed. Moore fled again, but eventually surrendered to police after a brief standoff.
