Gophers Walker, Hollins Earn All-Big Ten Honors

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- University of Minnesota seniors Andre Hollins and Maurice Walker were recognized by the Big Ten Conference on Monday, which handed out its end-of-season awards to the league's top players.

Both Hollins and Walker were named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention by the media and coaches.

Hollins led the Gophers with 14.3 points per game and added 4.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists on the season. It's the third straight year Hollins was selected Honorable Mention by the Big Ten. He finished the regular season fourth on Minnesota's career scoring list with 1,752 career points. He's also the only player in the program's history with at least 1,500 points and 300 assists.

Walker was second on the team in scoring at 12 points per game. He led Minnesota with 6.6 rebounds per game and 1.3 blocks per game. He scored in double figures in 19 of the Gophers' 31 regular season games.

The Gophers face Rutgers in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Chicago.
