Gov. Dayton's Approval Rating Hits 54 Percent

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- About three months in to his second term, a new poll shows Gov. Mark Dayton has one of his highest approval ratings since taking office.

The Star Tribune Poll finds 54 percent of voters are happy with the job he's doing. That's up from below 50 percent last fall.

About 36 percent of Minnesotans say they disapprove of his work.

Earlier this year, Dayton was under fire for giving state commissioners sizable raises. Most recently, he's been pushing spending increases on education and transportation.
