MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Remember those pinewood or carbon car derbies from when you were a kid?

Well, it no longer has to be a childhood memory, because the grown-ups head to the races Saturday for the annual Beerwood Derby in Minneapolis.

Anyone can take part in this fundraiser to benefit local Boy Scout troops. All you need is a derby kit and a full bottle of beer.

Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the races run from noon until 4 p.m.

Lunch is provided, and there will also be a silent auction with proceeds going to the Boy Scouts. Click here for more information.
