Minnesota Pilot Killed In Malaysia Helicopter Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A pilot from Minnesota was among the six people killed when a helicopter crashed outside Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Friends describe Clifford Fournier as an exceptional aviator. The father of four grew up in Anoka and Princeton.

After leaving the Marines, he moved to Malaysia to buy a helicopter company. The group was flying back from the Prime Minister's daughter's wedding when witnesses said it exploded midair.

Investigators are sorting through the debris outside Kuala Lumpur to find a possible cause. A former U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia was also among those killed.
