DES MOINES, Iowa (AP/WCCO) — Police say someone who attempted to steal a truck parked outside a Des Moines home instead took a bag of dog poop.
The Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of an attempted burglary around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday along the 1200 block of Cummins Road.READ MORE: Minnesota Budget Update Reflects $7.7 Billion Surplus
Upon arrival, a man told police someone broke into the driver’s side door of his truck sometime last month.
According to a police report, the person who tried to steal the truck but was unsuccessful then checked the bed of the vehicle and stole “a bag of dog feces.”READ MORE: Rhythm Street Movement Presents 'Who Brought the Humbug?'
Police say they haven’t identified any suspects in the crime, but that he or she could face third-degree burglary charges.
