MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Hope your calendar isn’t booked for the weekend!

We are just days away from the Twins Home Opener, and on Saturday fans can begin the count down at the Mall of America. From noon to 4 p.m. in the rotunda take part in tailgate games and giveaways. Following the event, the Twins game will air on the rotunda big screen.

Have you ever wanted to give log rolling a try? This weekend you can for free.

Key Log Rolling and the YMCA are partnering to teach all ages this fun lumberjack tradition. Just grab your swimsuit and head to the Blaisdell YMCA on Saturday from Saturday, 1 to 4 p.m.

Calling all Game of Thrones fans!

Dunn Bros. Lowry Hill is throwing a beer party Saturday to get fans pumped up for the premiere. There will be three kegs of beer, each brew properly named for the show, food specials and costumes are encouraged.

It’s garage sale season, but this one takes the cake.

The 15th annual Textile Garage Sale is the largest event of its kind with more than 2,000 people donating and shopping for fabric yarn, thread, beads, buttons and more. The big sale is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the University of Minnesota ReUse Program Warehouse. It’s only $1 to get in and from 3 to 4 p.m. you can get everything you can fit in a grocery bag for $2.

How about a great way to check out the Saints new stadium in Lowertown and get a workout in!

It’s the 12th annual Saint Paul Saints Running of the Pigs.

Saturday starts with a Kids Run at 9 a.m. at CHS Field, then a 5k at 9:15 am.

For the couch potatoes there’s also a Zerok. Participants will dash from the starting line to the finish line, which are both in the same place.

Entries are $20-$30.

All who register will get a T-shirt and a post-race meal.

Participants will also get to be some of the very first people to visit CHS Field before Opening Day on May 21!
