Man's Death Called Homicide In Oak Park Heights

OAK PARK HEIGHTS, Minn. (AP) — Police are investigating the first homicide in Oak Park Heights in 16 years.

Officers found the body of 39-year-old Nils Christian Johnson in his town house early on Tuesday morning. Police had been called to the town house on Sunday for a welfare check after relatives were unable to reach Johnson. But officers did not find his body at that time and started a missing person investigation.

The Ramsey County medical examiner's office identified Johnson. Details about how he died are not being released.

No one has been arrested. Police say the death does not appear random.

The last homicide in Oak Park Heights was in October 1998.
