Body Recovered From St. Croix River, North Of Stillwater

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities retrieved a body from the St. Croix River early Saturday afternoon, just north of downtown Stillwater.

According to a press release, both the Washington County Sheriff's office and the Stillwater Police Department assisted in the recovery.

The body was found in the area where police have been searching for Abbey Russell, a 24-year-old Stillwater woman who hasn't been seen since last Saturday.

Police say the body will be identified by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner, and the family will be notified before the identity is released.
