Thousands Attend Animal Humane Society's 'Walk For Animals'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Today's weather gave a lot of Minnesotans a great reason to get outside and help a good cause.

Thousands attended the Humane Society's 41st annual Walk for Animals. Dogs, cats and even a few reptiles took their owners on a two-and-a half mile walk in Golden Valley.

The walk is the Humane Society's biggest fundraiser and helps pay for medical treatment and care of the 24,000 animals the organization sees every year.

Along with the walk, owners can also add to their families by taking home one of the Humane Society's many adoptable pets.

Saturday's fundraiser, along with a phone bank earlier this week at WCCO, raised $990,000.
