Officials: Body Found In Le Sueur Co. Believed To Be Missing Woman

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in Le Sueur County say a body believed to be a missing 20-year-old woman was found Wednesday afternoon near the campsite where the woman disappeared.

Sheriff Dave Tietz said deputies located the body, which is presumed to be that of Moriah Zwart, floating in the Minnesota River two-and-a-half miles north from where she was camping with a friend on a sandbank.

Zwart disappeared last Friday. Authorities didn't suspect foul play in the case, and they believed alcohol may have played a factor in her disappearance.

Tietz said the body is being taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office and that the official search for Zwart has ended.
