Twin Cities Ranked No. 3 In 'Top 20 Midwest Cities For Jobs'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Twin Cities is one of the top places for jobs in the Midwest, according to a recent ranking.

ZipRecruiter analyzed hiring trends in major metro areas and just released its list of the Top 20 Midwest Cities for Jobs, where Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington area earned the No. 3 spot.

"The Twin Cities are a global financial player as the home to the U.S. headquarters for many foreign companies and the business hub between Seattle and Chicago," the ranking writes. "In addition to its economic centrality, the area's economy is driven by production; Minneapolis is a national leader in medical device manufacturing. Additionally, the cities are considered by many to be the cultural center of the region and draw creative talent interested in music, writing, and theater."

The top 5 most in-demand jobs for the Twin Cities include Information Technology: Business Analyst, Engineering: Process Development Engineer (Injection Molding), Manufacturing/Operations: Medical Assembly, Marketing/PR: Publishers and Healthcare: Pharmacy Technicians.

The Chicago area takes No. 1 followed by the Detroit area. St. Cloud also made the list at No. 14.
