Macalester Raises Money For Nepal Earthquake Victims

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Hundreds of people are still stranded in the mountains of Nepal. Dramatic video shows people desperate to leave following Tuesday's massive earthquake.

The Chinese military has been helping Nepali soldiers clear huge boulders from the roads. Nepal was hit by a magnitude 7.8 earthquake in April, killing more than 8,000. It was followed by another quake on Tuesday that killed more than one hundred.

People in St. Paul are trying to help the victims of that earthquake. A group gathered at Macalester College for a silent auction and an art sale. There was also a photo booth and food for people to enjoy. Even some bands came out to perform live music.

All the proceeds went to helping those affected by the earthquake. Nepal's prime minister is asking the international community for more aid to help his nation recover.
