Train, Truck Collide Near New Prague

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 30-year-old truck driver is being treated for burns and minor injuries after getting hit by a train near New Prague this afternoon.

The Scott County Sheriff's Office says the truck driver stopped at the crossing then drove onto the tracks.

The truck was dragged about 600 feet by the Union Pacific train, causing railroad ties to catch fire.

The train was not hauling any hazardous materials. No one in the Union Pacific train crew was injured.

The collision happened around 2 p.m. just east of the intersection of Highway 21 and County Road 2, north of New Prague in Scott County.
