Man, 62, Killed In Douglas County Tractor Rollover

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of the victim in a fatal tractor rollover.

According to the sheriff's office, a 911 call was received at around 10 p.m. Wednesday of a tractor rollover with a man pinned underneath, located on Oak Tree Rd NE in Miltona.

When emergency responders arrived, they encountered a front end loader that had rolled over and was upside down with the driver pinned underneath it. Owners had attempted to upright the tractor but were unsuccessful.

The victim, identified Thursday as 62-year-old Richard Charles Mittag, was pronounced dead on scene.

Witnesses told authorities the tractor rolled over on Mittag when he was attempting to remove livestock from a corral. The tractor was on a steep incline and overturned.
