MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 47-year-old Fridley man is in critical condition after he was stabbed by his 13-year-old son Monday.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, Fridley police officers responded to a call of a “heavy domestic” situation in the 5200 block of Lincoln St. NE.

Upon arrival, police learned that a domestic argument had been taking place among several adults in the home, including a husband and wife, both of whom were consuming alcohol.

Police said the argument had become physical and the 13-year-old interjected himself into the situation, stabbing the man in the chest with a large knife.

The man was transported to HCMC, where he has been listed in critical condition.

The 13-year-old was taken to Lino Lakes Juvenile Detention Center.

Police said it is unclear what charges, if any, will be given. Anoka County Attorney’s Office will determine the charges.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Fridley Police Department and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
