Albertville Woman Discovers Black Widow Spider In Grapes Bought At Target

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If you've got a problem with spiders or if you're eating grapes at any point today, you'll want to brace yourself for this story.

An Albertville woman says she found a juvenile black widow spider in a bag of grapes she bought from a Twin Cities Target store. Kelly Steinke told the North Wright County Today earlier this week she posted a picture of the spider to an online identification site and was told it was a juvenile Western Black Widow.

She made the discovery even after washing the grapes with baking soda and a mixture of water and vinegar.

She called Target to report what she found. They refunded her for the grapes and her entire produce purchase. Steinke told the paper she's not sure if she's going to grab for another bag again.
