Tuition Hike Headed For U Of M Students
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A proposed tuition freeze for the University of Minnesota was not included in the recent bill that increased spending on education, and students should expect to pay more next year.
The University proposed a 1.5 percent tuition increase for in-state students -- that's about $180 more per year, totaling about $12,000. Out-of-state students would see a 7 percent increase, which comes to a little more than $19,000.
Room and board rates will also go up. The Board of Regents will discuss the proposal next week.
