MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The WNBA announced Tuesday that Minnesota Lynx guard Lindsay Whalen was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for June 22-28.

It’s Whalen’s third Player of the Week honor with the Lynx and seventh of her career. She scored 16 points and added six assists in a June 25 win at Seattle. Whalen added 21 points on Saturday in a win over the Phoenix Mercury.

That was her 28th game of at least 20 points with the Lynx and the 52nd of her career. She shot better than 53 percent from the field as the Lynx improved to 7-2 on the season.

The Lynx are back in action Friday night, hosting the Seattle Storm at 7 p.m. at Target Center.
