Police: 18-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot In Northwest Minnesota

CROOKSTON, Minn. (AP) — Police say an 18-year-old man has died after being shot by a friend in the northwestern Minnesota community of Crookston.

Crookston Police Chief Paul Biermaier says Juan Morales died Thursday afternoon at a hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. According to police, he was found with a gunshot wound to the head just after midnight.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection to Morales' death. The suspect is expected to appear in court Friday.

Crookston police Lt. Darin Selzler told a local TV station that Morales' death comes as a shock to the small community. The city is about 25 miles southeast of Grand Forks, North Dakota.
