Minnesota Republicans Call For An End To MNsure

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Minnesota Republicans are calling for an end to Minnesota's online health care exchange.

Republican lawmakers met at the State Capitol on Monday to hold a news conference after 180,000 Minnesotans on MnSure had their renewals delayed last week. Republicans are calling for an immediate review of the oversight committee and to get rid of MNsure completely.

Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton has expressed he wants to wait until January to talk about any changes. That's when a Blue Ribbon Health Care Commission Report comes out.

"We've had three years of failures, of failures with MNsure and sometimes in life you just have to admit it failed. It didn't work," Republican Greg Davis said.

The Republicans want Minnesotans to transition to the Federal government's health exchange. Two weeks ago, the Supreme Court made a ruling upholding the Affordable Care Act.
