Lynx's Augustus Has Arthroscopic Surgery On Right Knee

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Lynx guard Seimone Augustus had arthroscopic surgery on her right knee and will be sidelined indefinitely.

The team announced the surgery Friday.

Augustus averaged 15.4 points in 13 games this season and was named an All-Star starter this week.

Even without their star, the Lynx beat the Chicago Sky 84-66 on Friday night. Minnesota (11-3) is sitting in first place in the Western Conference.

She scored 21 points in her last game, an 85-79 win at Connecticut on Tuesday.

This isn't Augustus' first knee injury. The former LSU star missed the bulk of the 2009 season after tearing the ACL in her left knee. She missed 10 games last year because of soreness in her left knee.

Augustus' injury was the second the Lynx suffered this week. Guard Monica Wright had arthroscopic surgery on her right knee on Thursday.
