MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Here’s a look at some weekend events that all seem to involve a lot of food, a few beverages, books, and bikes. But not all at the same time.
Come along on the Tour de Fat!
This family-friendly bike ride connects people with bikes, beer, and community. The bike parade begins at 10 a.m. in Loring Park. Proceeds benefit local cycling nonprofits.
Have a Minnesota Twins player serve you dinner!
The ninth-annual Celebrity Waiter Event takes place this Sunday at Capital Grille. Minnesota Twins players wait on tables to raise money for The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities.
Tickets are still available.
This festival is back at St. Paul’s Mears Park this weekend with a great lineup of blues musicians including Elvin Bishop, Walter Trout, and Jimmi and the Band of Souls. Avoid the Interstate 94 closure and hop on the Metro Transit Green Line!
Admission is free.
Nothing like a good book on water!
The Floating Library takes place Saturday in Silverwood Park. Ambitious readers can travel via kayak, canoe, rowboat to the little floating structure.
Explore a variety of reading materials, including zines, chapbooks, music books, literature, and art pieces. Read while aboard the library, or ask the librarians about checking something out.
Another fun event this weekend is the Northeast brewers block party on Sunday hosted by Sociable Cider Werks. There will be great food, live music, and craft beer and cider.
