Ban On Gay Boy Scout Troop Leaders May End

The Boy Scouts are expected to ratify a resolution to lift a long standing ban on openly gay troop leaders. That comes nearly two weeks after that the group’s executive committee voted to lift the ban. However, the new policy won’t prevent church-led Scout groups from choosing adult leaders whose “beliefs are consistent with their own.”

Ticket Giveaway For First Concert At U.S. Bank Stadium

The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority wants you to know the new U.S. Bank Stadium will be more than just a football stadium. As part of its “One Year Out” campaign, they are going to start giving away tickets to the first concert at the stadium. Although it’s not yet known who will play, 12 sets of tickets will be given away August 3.

Katy Perry, George W. Bush Headline Starkey Gala

Some of the world’s biggest stars were in St. Paul this weekend. The RiverCentre rolled out the red carpet for the Starkey Hearing Foundation’s annual Gala Sunday night. Katy Perry accepted an invitation to sing at the event this year. Two former presidents — George W. Bush and Bill Clinton — were also there. The annual “So the World May Hear Gala” is held to thank the people and organizations who have worked with the foundation to provide hearing aids around the world. The event raised $9 million.

Apple Watch Coming To Best Buy Stores

One of the year’s most talked about products, is coming to Best Buy. Starting August 7, Best Buy will be the first national retailer, other than Apple Stores, where customers can buy the Apple Watch. It will begin to arrive in more than 100 Best Buy stores and will also be available on BestBuy.com. Another 200 Best Buy stores will have the Apple Watch in time for holiday shopping.
