2 Killed In Broadside Crash In Blue Earth Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A broadside crash in Blue Earth County left two people dead Thursday afternoon.

According to Minnesota State Patrol, just before 1 p.m. 18-year-old Christopher J. Schneider, of Lake Crystal, was driving eastbound on Blue Earth County Road 9. At the same time, Roderick M. Elbert, 74, and Kathy E. Ohman, 75, both of North Mankato, were traveling northbound on Highway 169.

Schneider and Elbert collided as CR 9 and Hwy. 169 intersected.

Schneider sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Elbert and Ohman died.

The cars collided as Country Road 9 and Highway 169 intersected.
