Man Arrested For Interfering With Firefighters In Granite Falls
GRANITE FALLS, Minn. (WCCO) -- A man is facing charges after causing trouble at the scene of a fire in Granite Falls Thursday evening.
Charles Adam Howell, 27, was arrested for disorderly conduct and interfering with firefighters. He's also being charged for property damage, after a witness saw him puncture the tire of a nearby vehicle, according to police.
The incident began at around 4:48 p.m. Thursday when police and firefighters arrived at the scene of a house fire on 7th Street. As authorities were attempting to calm the blaze that had engulfed the main floor of the home, police say Howell arrived on scene and began "interfering with firefighting efforts." Officers attempted to escort Howell off the property, but he resisted and was subsequently taken into custody.
The Granite Falls Police and Fire departments are investigating the cause of the fire.
