Weekend Road Work Closes Parts Of I-394, I-94

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Drivers in the Twin Cities will need plenty of patience navigating road construction this weekend.

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 394 have shifted into the HOV lanes.

MnDOT crews closed eastbound mainline lanes of I-394 between Highway 100 in Golden Valley and I-94 in downtown Minneapolis for pavement work. Traffic will shift to the two HOV/Reversible lanes for about two weeks.

MnDOT said drivers should plan for significant delays, similar to when crews worked on the westbound lanes of I-394.

Also this weekend, eastbound I-94 is closed between Highway 280 and 35E.

It's part of the Snelling Avenue Bridge project.

The road should reopen by Monday morning's commute.
