Sheriff: Missing Man Found Dead In Vehicle In LeSueur County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say a New Prague man who had been reported missing about two weeks ago was found dead inside a vehicle Saturday night.

Anthony James Slavik left his residence on July 18 and never returned. His family said he has a condition that requires medical intervention, and he had been on the kidney transplant list. He had been doing home Hemodialysis.

The LeSueur County Sheriff's Office was called at about 5:56 p.m. Saturday to a report of a person found dead inside a vehicle. It was reported by individuals hiking though the Chadderon State Wildlife Management Area, located southeast of LeCenter in Cordova Township.

When officers arrived, they found a man dead inside a 2000 red Jeep Cherokee. The man is believed to be the 31-year-old Slavik. The man's body was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner for a positive ID and autopsy.

Authorities say no foul play is suspected in the incident, and the death remains under investigation by the LeSueur County Sheriff's Office with assistance from the New Prague Police Department.
