State Patrol: 5 Hurt In Eau Claire County (Wis.) Rollover Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Five people were hurt Saturday afternoon in a rollover crash in western Wisconsin, and authorities say alcohol appears to have been a factor, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Authorities responded at about 2:49 p.m. to a rollover crash on westbound Interstate 94 in the Town of Union in Eau Claire County. When officers arrived, a 2000 Ford Explorer being driven by an 18-year-old Minneapolis man lost control and rolled over.

That driver was identified by authorities as Vejon Montray Murray. As the vehicle lost control, it hit a Ford F350 pick-up truck. Nobody in the truck was hurt in the crash.

Murray and four others in the Ford Explorer were taken to Eau Claire Area Hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Murray was also cited for no valid driver's license, failure to keep the vehicle under control, failure to have passengers seat belted and open intoxicants.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.
