Northern Thunder Charity Ride To Benefit MN Military Members

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The charity ride at this year's Northern Thunder Motorcycle Rally will benefit the Minnesota Military Family Foundation.

Northern Thunder is part of Mystic Lake's Hot Summer Fun series, a series of events that takes place through Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Founded in 20014, the MMFF works to financially support deployed Minnesotans and their families.

The ride is designed as a game of poker.

Each rider will be given a playing card when they begin the ride and when they finish. Three cards will also be handed out at three stops along the route.

The five riders will the best poker hands will receive free slot play at Mystic Lake.

Mystic Lake will also donate $15 per ride and $10 per passenger.

Northern Thunder takes place Aug. 21 through 23.

It includes free outdoor contests, slow bike races, hot rods, games and appearances by celebrities such as Eric Estrada.
